Outdiver

LYRICS

Inhale this brine
Fill my mouth like a void

I’ve sorted out a muddle with which I was annoyed
But before you, the rationale gets thoroughly destroyed
Into zillions of detritus torn away
They’ve fallen to the seabed, snowballed into an ovoid
Submersing into the pitch black water of clay,
I’m searching for the cumbersome stuff gone astray
In the darkness where the sun never comes and goes,
I’ve found it so luminous as eggs swell sharks lay
After it hatches, can I see how the larva grows?
Will the innocence get my wounds to close?
As you’ve left on my heart many stabbing X’s,

Which are washed away by the tide’s numbing O’s
If the sea flows so fast that it perplexes
Me, or caught by a flowery word that hexes
Me, I will meet you again on the ground,
Warding off the spells, outswimming any flexes

Flood this throat of mine
So all my chokes get downed
From my mouth open
Comes again a sound

I pick up pieces of my words that had to be spoken
Now they’ve been completely crashed down and broken,
In front of your fragile eyes and little smile
How precious they were I want to show you as a token
The fragments become an awkward pile
I stare at imperfect sequences for a while,
Like a letterpress printer, careful of his manners,
From a heap I take out and look at each tile;
Take radicals out of Chinese characters,
Consonants and vowels from Japanese letters
Can you guess what part will most frequently appear?
Such nonsense fills my head that I’m shattered
I collect up my wrecks on the floor of my tear
And put my body together I wonder if he can hear
If so, I peer at the me new and clear,
Spark him to go back to you and I give him a cheer
